Project Highlights: This far north suburban home, features several custom installations designed to compliment the high ceilings in the Foyer and Living Room. A hand detailed cherry wood grid is suspended with stainless steel cable above the main seating area. Pendant fixtures protrude through the pattern adding accent lighting in the evening. The lofted wall above the Dining Room features commissioned art panels wrapped in contemporary cherry slat framing. This same detail appears above the front door in the Foyer. Metallic wallpaper finishes the aesthetic, along with custom window treatments. Of particular interest, is the dramatic drapery panels that separate the Dining Room and Living Room. The main Foyer lighting fixture is actually three individual lights, installed as a grouping, and anchored with a frosted plexi-glass plate dropped five inches from the ceiling. The Family Room is detailed in chocolate and a muted blue with a combination of coordinating textures. Found object foundry molds were made into mirrors, and the custom shelving is designed to utilize the open space between the support column and the main accent wall. Industry partners for the entire first floor include Robert Allen, Beacon Hill, MDC paper, Barbara Cosgrove lamps and Baker furniture.
