Project Highlights: From a spatial perspective this homes first floor is very linear. So rather than fight the interior architecture we decided to use both symmetrical and asymmetrical design solutions. In the Kitchen, pendant lights are suspended at two different heights over the kitchen table placed on an angle. The curved accent wall in Kitchen is hand detailed, metallic parchment paper applied in a textural patchwork pattern. The Dining Room, unlike the Kitchen thrives on symmetry. Custom silk treatments and glazed columns add a rich and substantial feel to this defined yet open and adjacent entertaining space. On that note, the large Dining Room table is also a billiards table with a removable top. The Family Room also required a non-traditional solution. The silk window treatments give the space balance as do the lamps behind the sofa. In addition, the use of symmetrical elements into this open floor plan have a calming effect on the interior.
The Music Room and Study both have a collected yet cohesive feel. Both spaces feature hand painted millwork and personal collections of sheet music and historical family photos.
